Installing spo714t hayward sand pool filter
How to install the sp0714t Hayward sand filter to pool? Hi I was wondering if someone knows how to install the sand filter to a pool above ground we really don’t know were the pipes go and in the filter nor the pool we have the owners manual but it doesn’t show any pictures only words and its a lil hard for me does anybody know about these filter or had an experience with these and were can i get picture instructions on how to install thanks i will really appreciate it.

If you have a main drain, this should be connected to the skimmer also and these pipes should go to a circulation pump and then into the top of the filter. The filtered water comes out of the bottom and then goes to a heater and then back to the pool. You want to keep these items as close as possible to cut down on piping costs, but far enough apart so that you can service them if need be. The junk that accumulates at the top of the filter can then be back washed out of removed by hand.
The water comes from the skimmer (square or round box on side wall) and goes into the pump (enters the strainer basket end) comes out the top of pump into the upper pipe of the filter (marked ‘pump’) comes out the other pipe (marked ‘return’) and goes (insert heater here) back to the pools smaller round inlet. You made some good points there. I did a search on the topic and found most people will agree with your opinion.
Firstly you have to find a good position break the circuit of pipes, where you want to install the filter (right after the pump and before the chlorinator- in case of no water heater, if not water heater then chlorinator) and connect the laterals in its place. Connect the filter to the pump after filling the filter with the necessary filter-things. (Connect the filter to the pump using the port on top of the filter). Make sure you connect the pipes back and that they complete a circuit. Make sure they are not above 6 feet the valves and other maintenance appliances should be in a place where they can be approached.
